Well, a couple of weeks ago I lost my job due to a reduction/restructuring of the company I worked for. It was a total and complete shock to me as well as my husband. I didn't see it coming at all and that made matters worse. The unknown was waiting for me.
The good thing was, about a week after I lost my job Grace and I went to Vegas to visit Laura, Don, the boys', Beth, Don and Leigha. Grace and I held up the fort in Laura's guest room, and we had an absolute blast with the kids. While we were there Larry and Karen were celebrating Karen's retirement so we had a very nice family dinner with them at Beth's house one evening. Mom, Grace and I reconnected with them at the hotel we were all staying at for lunch before our plane took off. We went to the strip one night and stayed at the Signature by MGM Grand. It was wonderful. A gated hotel. Grace loved the bath tub, it had whirlpool jets in it and I let her put her bathing suit on and just relax. She was loving life. Ahh, to be five and a half again!
I missed Joey and Joe like crazy, so I am happy to be home but it's always very difficult to say goodbye. Laura and I have grown very close over the years, sharing our infertility and everything, so our visits always are fun and warm and mean so much to me.
I hope our visits won't be as far between as this last one that's for sure.
Last night Grace and I did her project for the 100th day of school, 100 days goes by very quickly.
